Abrasive Wheel Training

Course outline

This is a course designed for operatives who use any items with cutting and/or abrasive disks such as Stihl Saws, Angle Grinders, Chop Saws, Bench/Pedestal Grinders, Surface Grinders, Cylindrical Grinders, among many more.

The training covers the risks and necessary precautions to be taken when using abrasive wheel machines as well as how to safely remove and replace all wheels/disks.

We invite customers to bring your own equipment to the courses, to enable operatives to be trained on the specific items they need to use. If this is not possible, we can provide the necessary saws/grinders. The machines will not be used for cutting during the course so there are no safety risks involved.

Successful candidates will receive a JPS Training certificate, valid for one year.

This course can be held at our training centre or at a location of your choice, providing there is space for all candidates to be sat at desks, and sufficient space and power for the instructor’s laptop and projector. The room will also require space for the operatives to be shown how to safely remove and replace abrasive wheels. No cutting will take place, so there is no ventilation or cleaning concern.
